TOMU'S SOUND LIBRARY

Learn Japanese with Audio

Listen to real Japanese audio and see each phrase in Japanese script and romaji, with its English meaning and notes on how polite it is and when to use it. The audio comes from the original recordings in TOMU'S SOUND LIBRARY. Listening is free, and recordings published as sound materials can be downloaded under the site's License.

How to use this section

  1. Press play and listen to how the phrase sounds in Japanese.
  2. Check the romaji reading, the English meaning, how polite the phrase is, and how it is used.
  3. Open the original sound page if you want to download or save a recording.

Romaji follows standard Hepburn romanization. A vowel with a line above it, such as ō, is held longer (for example, ありがとう is written arigatō).
