Guitar

Guitar Sounds collects guitar recordings, including ones made in Meguro, Tokyo, Japan. Most are acoustic guitar: chord backings, arpeggios, chord phrases and short jingle-style phrases.

Many are named by chord. Some are labelled jazz-style, pop-style or bossa nova-style, and there are pieces named for a playing technique or a short sound: rhythmic guitar strumming (known in Japanese as “cutting”), guitar harmonics, and an ornamental sound made on the guitar's headstock. Some come with an MP4 video. Formats vary by sound: MP3, WAV or both.

These clips suit background music for video and games, jingles, transitions and music production. The site owner also uses them when writing music in Cubase. Chord names and lengths are shown on each page, so audition a few and choose what fits your scene.

The recording places registered for these sounds include apartments in Meguro and their soundproof room. We record guitar in a simple soundproof room at home and keep re-recording until the performance feels right. Guitar is mainly recorded with the ZOOM iQ7 in M-S mode, although some individual recordings have no documented setting, so we do not state it for any single sound.
